CAREER AVENUES FOR EXPERIENCED CABIN CREW
Learning and development are the biggest goals for an individual as far as his/her career is concerned. Every person wants a continuous upward growth in the career path inculcating improved and newer skills which add to the market value. Hence after acquiring theoretical as well as practical experience by investing some years, one is able to attain the position where s/he will find stability and sense of achievement.
Contrary to the popular belief, a Cabin Crew can proceed in the same career with a more rewarding position or may change his/her field altogether after gaining certain years of experience in hand.
From a trainee, one proceeds to a flight attendant, senior Cabin Crew, Manager, director, assistant base manager, base manager, instructors or even a vice president of the in-flight department. If backed by experience and education both with an excellent track record, s/he may move to even higher managerial positions.
It is also possible to switch from flying to other profiles. They may include public relations profile, soft skills instructor, internal auditor, handling customer centric departments. In case you have a sound educational background, it will be an icing on the cake. It will open up a plethora of opportunities which may be rewarding as well as satisfactory too.
If you want to be in the aviation industry itself, however wish to experience other opportunities, then there are positions in the government or public sector where recruitments happen at regular intervals. You can try in DGCA and also in Airport Authority of India.
It is a myth that Cabin Crew cannot work anywhere else and if they do, they won’t earn as they used to in flying. If you have been investing in the important aspects of learning and skill enhancement while flying, trust us after you decide to quit flying, there won’t be situations that cannot be overcome in terms of a career switch.
